Blake Shelton wrote a heartfelt tribute to his late friend Joe Bonsall, a member of The Oak Ridge Boys from 1973 to 2024. Sharing a photo of them singing together, Blake expressed his sorrow on Instagram Stories: “I’m heartbroken to hear of my friend Joe Bonsall’s death.” He added, “I’ve NEVER seen Joe when he wasn’t smiling and completely full of life. He loved singing more than anyone I’ve ever met.”
Joe Bonsall passed away due to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a disease that affects voluntary muscles. Fans learned of his diagnosis in January 2024, four years after he began battling the illness. Joe was married to Mary Ann and had two daughters, Jennifer and Sabrina, along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joe was also an accomplished author, with his memoir, *I See Myself*, set to be released in November. The Oak Ridge Boys, known for hits like “Elvira” and “Bobbie Sue,” continue their American Made: The Farewell tour, honoring Joe’s legacy.
